After installation, if you have assigned JCE as the default WYSIWYG editor in the Joomla! Configuartion but are still receiving the "Editor is not set as the default WYSIWYG Editor in the Joomla! Configuration" message (see image below);

you may need to assign the editor to the user in the Joomla! User Manager, or remove any other editor already assigned.
