JCE Pro 2.9.76 released

This update fixes a few bugs and issues reported since the last update, including errors in AcyMailing, Gridbox and Virtuemart that would prevent the editor from loading. In addition to these fixes, a few new features have been added.

Sandbox exclusions for more common providers

Default sandboxing of iframes for external content was introduced in JCE Pro 2.9.70, which included exclusions for common providers like Youtube, Vimeo and Spotify. This update expands those exclusions to include Google Maps, Codepen, Giphy, and Apple Music.

Category and Negated Value support in the Editor Profile Custom Query option

It is now possible to set category id values (catid) as a Custom Query option in and Editor Profile. This change also supports changing a category dynamically while editing an article. In addition, this update includes support for negated values in Custom Query options. By adding an exclamation mark (!) before a value, users can now specify conditions to exclude certain categories dynamically. For instance, setting a query Key of catid with a Value of !8 will load the profile for all articles that do not belong to category 8.

Fallback Editor

A key feature of the JCE Editor is the ability to assign a specific editor profile to any combination of Joomla Areas (site or admin), Components (Article Manager, Banners, etc.), User Groups (Author, Editor etc.) or a selection of Users. If no profile matched the user's environment based on these settings, then the editor defaulted to a read-only box, showing only the content of the article.

It is now possible to set a Fallback Editor to use if no Editor Profile matches the user environment, with all the other system editors available. If the Fallback Editor is set to Tinymce for example, then the user will be presented with the Joomla Tinymce editor instead of the read-only content box. This feature is particularly useful for scenarios where JCE Pro Editor is designated for certain extensions, such as the Joomla Article Manager, while another editor, like Joomla Tinymce, might be preferred for other extensions such as AcyMailing or Virtuemart.
