JCE Pro 2.9.81 released

This update introduces simplified iframe embedding for Facebook and Instagram posts and videos via pasted URLs, along with new options to disable the JCE Media Field for specific profiles and to apply custom CSS rules for editor content display. Additionally, it resolves issues with copying and pasting table cells between tables and addresses several bugs and issues reported since the last update

Facebook and Instagram Embedding

Simple iframe embedding for a variety of media providers like YouTube, Vimeo, Soundcloud, and Spotify has been available for some time. These media providers use the OEmbed API to provide accurate embed parameters. However, Facebook and Instagram have discontinued access to their embed data via OEmbed, which initially excluded them from iframe embed options in JCE. This update now includes simple URL detection and conversion, allowing seamless embedding of Facebook posts and videos, as well as Instagram posts and reels using iframes. This enhancement simplifies the integration of social media content within articles or custom content.

File Browser Profile Parameter for JCE Media Fields

A new parameter has been added to the File Browser profile settings, allowing administrators to enable or disable the JCE Media Field for specific profiles. When disabled, the JCE Media Field becomes read-only. Additionally, Joomla Media Fields that would normally be converted to use the JCE File Browser, such as those found in the Images and Links tab when creating an article, will not be converted.

Custom CSS Rules for Editor Content

In the Typography tab of the Editor Profiles, a new option has been added to allow the application of custom CSS rules to the editor’s content display. This feature can be particularly useful for overriding template styles that may not be ideal during content editing. For instance, you can increase font sizes or modify spacing for a more user-friendly editing experience without needing to create a separate editor stylesheet.
