Hello,

if i set the Filesystem > directory path sth like this:

images/$year/$username

is the user able to access his or her own files when 2019 alters to 2020? f.i.can 'user' acces the path images/2019/user next year?

i prefer not to use the path images/$user/$year because i want to be able as an admin to delete an entire $year in one click.

thank you

Ryan

No, the new path restriction will apply, as the base path for each user will effectively be images/2020

Can you think about any workarround?

Ryan
your chosen directory structure makes this a little tricky, so the best I can come up with is this: Download and install JCE Pro 2.7.20 Beta 2 - https://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/downloads/editor/pro/development In Editor Profiles -> Editor Parameters -> Filesystem, set the File Directory Path as a blank value (remove any value you have entered in), then for the Directory Filter field, add

+2019/$username
then click the plus button to create a new field and add

+$year/$username

Thank you for your effort,

Notice 1: directories of the year need to be made. (2018-2019, also to test access in the past...)

Notice 2: since users have authority to create directories, they'll mess up the structure anyway, so they only can acces their own user directory, and we will delete files/directories chronologically per year.

the only workarround would be that the can create directories in the current yeardirectory, and only have reading rights in the past years... but that is quite a package i'm afraid, so i'll manage with the existing configuration,

thank you once again.

greetings,

marK
