Using JCE Pro 2.8.14. We use JCE Popups for most images but they only show up AFTER a refresh to the page and not on initial load up.

Please check this page for example:

https://stellarmate.com/support/ekos/setup.html

When I inspect the element in Chrome, I see this:

<a class="wfpopup wf-zoom-image" href="/images/ekos/3.4.3/profile_wizard_select.png" style="margin-right: 728px; margin-left: 728px;"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; float: none;" src="/images/ekos/3.4.3/thumbnails/thumb_profile_wizard_select.png" alt="profile wizard select"><span class="wf-icon-zoom-image"><svg version="1.1" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" width="24" height="24" viewBox="0 0 1024 1024"><g stroke="none" stroke-width="1"></g><path d="M292.714 475.428q0 105.714 75.143 180.857t180.857 75.143 180.857-75.143 75.143-180.857-75.143-180.857-180.857-75.143-180.857 75.143-75.143 180.857zM0.143 0q0-29.714 21.714-51.429t51.429-21.714q30.857 0 51.429 21.714l196 195.429q102.286-70.857 228-70.857 81.714 0 156.286 31.714t128.571 85.714 85.714 128.571 31.714 156.286-31.714 156.286-85.714 128.571-128.571 85.714-156.286 31.714-156.286-31.714-128.571-85.714-85.714-128.571-31.714-156.286q0-125.714 70.857-228l-196-196q-21.143-21.143-21.143-51.429z"></path></svg></span></a>

But the image size in Chrome is 0x0. However, when I press F5 in Chrome, then page is reloaded and all images are loaded fine. The same element looks like this now:

<p><a class="wfpopup wf-zoom-image" href="/images/ekos/3.4.3/profile_wizard_select.png" style="margin-right: 233.609px; margin-left: 233.609px;"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; float: none;" src="/images/ekos/3.4.3/thumbnails/thumb_profile_wizard_select.png" alt="profile wizard select"><span class="wf-icon-zoom-image"><svg version="1.1" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" width="24" height="24" viewBox="0 0 1024 1024"><g stroke="none" stroke-width="1"></g><path d="M292.714 475.428q0 105.714 75.143 180.857t180.857 75.143 180.857-75.143 75.143-180.857-75.143-180.857-180.857-75.143-180.857 75.143-75.143 180.857zM0.143 0q0-29.714 21.714-51.429t51.429-21.714q30.857 0 51.429 21.714l196 195.429q102.286-70.857 228-70.857 81.714 0 156.286 31.714t128.571 85.714 85.714 128.571 31.714 156.286-31.714 156.286-85.714 128.571-128.571 85.714-156.286 31.714-156.286-31.714-128.571-85.714-85.714-128.571-31.714-156.286q0-125.714 70.857-228l-196-196q-21.143-21.143-21.143-51.429z"></path></svg></span></a></p>

Now most users don't even see the images and we can't expect them to figure out to refresh the page in order to see them, so it's critical to identify what's going on here and fix it. Using the latest Joomla.

You appear to have some kind of script applying an effect to the image when the page loads, which is causing an issue with the MEdiaBox "zoom" icon.

You can disable the rendering of the icon, and perhaps fix this issue, in the JCE MediaBox parameters, by setting the Zoom / Popup Icons option to No.

Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean everybody isn't out to get you.
