I have tried to update this extension for a while now and keep getting this error message. I have tried to update directly in Joomla and I downloaded install zip folder and tried to update from my desktop.
Getting the same error message each time.

Please do the following:
Using your FTP client or site management tools, delete the following folders:
administrator/components/com_jce
components/com_jce
media/jce
plugins/content/jce
plugins/editor/jce
plugins/installer/jce
plugins/extension/jce
plugins/quickicon/jce
plugins/system/jce
then uninstall the package:
Go to Extensions -> Manage->Manage and select Package from the Select Type list. Check the JCE Pro Extension Package box and click Uninstall.
Go to Extensions -> Manage -> Install and install the JCE Pro 2.9.10 package.
Using your FTP client or site management tools, delete the following folders:
administrator/components/com_jce
components/com_jce
media/jce
plugins/content/jce
plugins/editor/jce
plugins/installer/jce
plugins/extension/jce
plugins/quickicon/jce
plugins/system/jce
then uninstall the package:

Do you have errors installing any other extensions?
Are you uploading the zip file directly? Some browsers (Safari) unzip it after you download it from the site, which is not desirable.

This is only extension giving me errors. I use Chrome as browser and use the zip file. I will try again and attach screen prints.
METHOD ONE
1.jpg is zip folder downloaded from site - pkg_jce_pro_2910.zip
2.jpg is error page after failed attempt to update

I think this might be a folder permissions issue.

thank you, Ryan. I am having trouble connecting to Joomla admin panel. I will send along information as soon as I am able to get a log in working. I suspect it is a result of Siteguarding error messages after last update attempt. I have contacted them to see if it is something on their end.
