When I try to upload an image in JCE Editor in an article, I get the message: Upload failed: Exif data could not be removed from this image.
I also get this message:
Joomla\CMS\Filesystem\Folder::files: Path is not a folder. Path: ....../public_html/plugins/system/jcemediabox/addons
Layout "manager_popup" not found in Paths ...../public_html/components/com_jce/editor/libraries/views/plugin/tmpl
What can I do to solve this?
I use:
Joomla 4.0.5
PHP 8.1.0
JCE Editor 2.9.18

and perhaps associated PHP extensions on your site.
That could be the problem. I have more issues since I moved to a new host, also, with WordPress websites.
Furthermore, I downgraded form PHP 8.1 to PHP 7.4 and now the error has gone.
I've tested this with PHP 8.1 without issue, but I suspect your problem may be related to this version of PHP, and perhaps asssocicated PHP extensions on your site.
Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean everybody isn't out to get you.

Actually, my problem is solved. I saw that there were two buttons for images, one called 'Image Manager' and one called 'Image Manger Extended'.
I got the error when I used the first button.

You can disable the Remove Exif process by setting the Remove Image EXIF data option to No in Editor Profiles -> Editor Parameters -> Filesystem.
Are you able to resize images on upload?

Does this happen with all images or just a specific one?
