I am able to save long articles with many images using the super user account but can not save them using the Manager level account. They hang and eventually fail. Tried to increase Upload file size (KB) in editor parameters and plugin parameters but without any success.

I suspect this is caused by some pre-save processing by the Joomla core based on the usergroup level.
In the Joomla Global Configuration, in the Text Filters tab, is any filtering assigned to the Manager usergroup?
