I have successfully installed the 2.9.21 upgrade to all my sites except 1 and that produces the error shown in the attached. Can anyone help please?

This looks like the result of a permissions issue. JCE is attempting to delete old files on install (part of the installation maintenance routine) but these files are not writable.

The easiest way to fix this is to manually remove the JCE extension folders using FTP, then install the new update manually.

The folders to remove are:

administrator/components/com_jce
components/com_jce
media/jce
plugins/content/jce
plugins/editors/jce
plugins/extension/jce
plugins/fields/mediajce
plugins/installer/jce
plugins/quickicon/jce
plugins/system/jce

No, the options and profiles are stored in the database and will not be affected.

Ryan, Thanks for the answer. I decided to go the difficult route rather than delete and re-install. Formed a .bat file and bingo it worked without an error and updated.
