Hi, I have just migrated a site to Joomla 4 and working on setting up the front end editor. This site uses JCE media popups via a link to display another article in a popup window.

I wasn't sure if it would be possible to edit the articles that are displayed in this way in the front end. It did however initially seem possible in that there is an Edit button, and it opens the article correctly for editing. However if I try to save it or cancel it the editor doesn't exit correctly. I've attached a screenshot of the page rendered after hitting Cancel. The url that it generates is:

https://www.simstravel.co.uk/jom4/coach-excursions?view=article&id=6:newcastle-or-metro-centre&catid=8:excursions&tmpl=component

These are set up on the following page:

https://www.simstravel.co.uk/jom4/coach-excursions

I can forward login if required.

Thanks
Jennie

MediaBox is not intended to be used with editing articles, but it appears to be working OK in my tests.

Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean everybody isn't out to get you.

Sent login details.

Not the end of the world if it's not possible to do as I wasn't really expecting it to work!

Thank you.

It looks like your site has a redirect on the edit page so it doesn't stay inside the Mediabox iframe. I suspect this may be due to a script in your template, as this doesn't happen in my tests with the core template. Either way, it does mean that you can't edit an article inside a MediaBox popup.

Thanks for looking. Template is basic, only running 2 scripts. Removing them didn't change anything. Also still happens if I switch the default template to Cassiopeia. Not to worry but I appreciate you taking the time to look at it. x
