Unfortunately, the update of the new editor was probably not stored on the update server (update source).
This means that Joomla users in the backend do not receive any information about the new editor version 2.9.50. Of course you can download and install manually but customers are overwhelmed by this.

Considering the number of changes in this release, it is available initially as a direct download only, and will be pushed to the update server next week.
Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean everybody isn't out to get you.
