I am using JCE Editor 2.5.2 with Joomla 3.4.3.

I have some textareas in some Zoo pages and JCE Editor activated.

I have Process images for upload set to yes in both the Default and Front-end profile for Clipboard.

In the back-end I can drag and drop image files from Windows File Explorer into a textarea and it seems to process correctly.

However in the front-end I do not get the same behavior. Instead of an uploaded image with the appropriate image tag I get something like "<img src="data:image/png " followed by a large amount of alphanumeric data.

This is the same behavior I get in the back-end when trying to copy and paste an image from Microsoft Word.

I am thinking that neither the Default or Front-end profile is being related to the Front-end.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Which browser are you using?

Can you replicate the drag&drop upload issue on the demo site? - http://demo.joomlacontenteditor.net/

I've just tested it there in Firefox and its working as expected for me.

Strange.

It seems to work fine on your site with my version of Firefox. Still does not work in Firefox for mine.

The only difference is I am editing a Zoo Item on the front end. Not an Article.

Does it automatically pick up the JCE Front-end Profile?

I would suspect it was the something to do with my JCE configuration, but I just tried IE11 and it worked.

Tangental question - I always seem to have a problem with where the drag and drop "falls". In other words where the placeholder ends up being placed. I can be sure I have dropped it between 2 paragraphs, or at the end of the item. But it seems to drop randomly. Is there a trick? lol

ugh.

The version I am having problems with is on an intranet. I can't get you through the firewall.

However, I have an internet version that I started the app with. So I went to that version. And set you up with a login. Then I tested the login. And tried to use Firefox to drag and drop on that version.

From the same workstation. And therefore the same Firefox version. The drag and drop worked.

I did an Akeeba backup migration from the internet to the intranet. So it should have been fine. I guess I am going to have to compare my JCE setup line by line from the internet to the interenet.

Puzzling.

Does the editor profile that you are unable to do the drag&drop with contain the Image Manager or Image Manager Extended?

Ryan,

Yes. It contains both Image Manager and Image Manager Extended.

In Editor Profiles -> Plugin Parameters -> Image Manager, check that Inline Upload is set to Yes in the Permissions section.

Thanks for your patience on this.

Inline Upload was set to yes.

I took a chance. Uninstalled and installed. No improvement.

I had tried IE. It worked. Just took a chance and tried Chrome. It worked.

I am also noticing that when I switch to the source code editor in Firefox I get an unresponsive script.

Maybe my next step is uninstall/install firefox.

If only Firefox is the problem, the cause may be a Firefox extension, such as an Adblocker or something similar.

Ryan,

Ad Block Plus was the culprit on the unresponsive script issue.

Thanks!
