Hello, I have used JCE for years on all of my Joomla websites. In the last couple of years every website I develop is Bootstrap compatible. The challenge I face is creating a layout in the JCE editor in which clients can edit without messing up the entire page. Working with Bootstrap and JCE often requires editing in text/html mode and requires both HTML and Bootstrap knowledge. The issue being that most of the Bootstrap code is added as classes to DIVs. I know that someone has posted a custom JCE editor stylesheet which will highlight the DIVs in the JCE editor. This is a great solution for helping prevent clients from accidentally deleting DIVs but it does not allow for easy editing of Bootstrap layouts.
I have seen two Joomla options which do address the issue. The first, which I use on WordPress sites I develop, is a simple add-on that adds Bootstrap plugin codes to the editor. The developer has a version for the Joomla tinyMCE editor (http://codecanyon.net/item/tinymce-bootstrap-plugin-for-joomla/12525945). This is my preferred solution as it keeps editing fairly painless and removes all issues with the Bootstrap DIV structure. The second is a more visual editor like the extension: http://extensions.joomla.org/extension/bootstrap-editor. I find this solution to be a bit clunky as you need to go in and out of the actual editor for each block of content.
I would love to see a solution integrated into JCE. Bootstrap has taken over much of the heavy lifting when it comes to the basic and responsive styling of a site. I'm afraid without some sort of solution for JCE I will have to consider going with a different editor solution.
Thanks!

Hello, I agree without restriction!
This is exactly the problem I have with the development and administration of today's responsive websites, which work with Bootstrap. I can leave the content maintenance impossible to my customers, because the JCE editor sweeps the <span-divs> mercilessly.
Also I myself find it very elaborate, to format a content, which has on large monitors 3 columns, on tablets 2 columns and on smartphones only one column. I always have to switch between editor and code display.
A (JCE) editor, which in this day is called "PRO", should take the work of the user / admin.
Please urgently implement this feature!
Kind regards
forensis

I assume the C in JCE stands for CONTENT. And you can edit that.
Also you can configure JCE in many ways. I don't recognise the issues. With adding the standard (or altert) css file I have all bootstrap items available. But I prefer to give my users as less options as possible, because they will mess things up badly. However I would love Joomla to support Bootstrap 3 (and 4) soon, because now it's a pain in the a** and I have to add it manually with my templates.
