Image Manager Extended, and all the other extensions previously available for download (File Manager, Captions etc.) are already included in JCE Pro.

If you are not seeing them in the editor toolbar, you may need to add them in Profiles -> Features & Layout, eg:

:( I have 6 Joomla websites, all running JCE. Got notice today that a JCE update was waiting, so I clicked the update link in one of my sites. It updated to JCE 2.6.6 - but then I noticed ALL my plugin links disappeared. I used to have Image Manager Extended, File Manager, Media Manager, and others - which I rely on each time I work on any of my sites. But -- they literally just disappeared with the update. ???

I then checked this forum, and found this thread. Finally found the Profiles -> Features & Layout link referred to in your forum post - but it looks like my plugin icons are missing here as well - even though I still have an active subscription to JCE Pro. Here is a screenshot of my Features and Layout page on the site I updated.

Screenshot 2017-01-03 07.19.04.png

Comparing this with one of my other sites I didn't update JCE on yet - looks like there, it's running 2.5.18, and shows a "Install Add-Ons" screen in the JCE Control Panel. This too disappears with the update. (I had originally hoped to just reinstall the plugin - but it looks like that's no longer an option after the update.)

I tried updating JCE on another site, and had the exact same result - disappearance of the plugins, with no access including not in the Features and Layout page.

-- So - How can I can these crucial plugins operational again? It's made me scared to update JCE on my other 4 sites - yet I recognize that not updating represents a security risk. I have a lot of work to do on all my sites today. Please advise ASAP. -- Carrie Wrigley

For the affected site, please download and install JCE Pro 2.6.6 - https://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/downloads/editor/pro/item/jce-pro-266

For the other sites, when selecting the update, make sure that you have set your subscription key - https://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/support/faq/47-subscription/411-using-the-subscription-key#using-the-key

Ryan - thanks so much for your quick and effective response. I downloaded and installed Pro 2.6.6, and it immediately fixed the issue on both sites. Thank you.

I tried "setting my subscription" key on one of the other sites - it preserved the plugins, but still didn't show "JCE Editor Pro" in the Joomla Components menu - it still just showed "JCE Editor." So, I just installed the new 2.6.6 link on all 6 of my sites, preserving all the benefits of the "Pro" version on all sites.

Thanks again for your fast assistance today. Losing these plugins for that brief but scary period regenerated my profound appreciation for this amazing product you've created. JCE has been part of my Joomla site creation package from the beginning, and remains a core and crucial component in my development toolbox. Thank you so much! :-)

Sorry Ryan, there is no installer installed. It is in the package but has no menu item. Even in JCE Pro 2.66.

@elfer - The JCE Installer is no longer required because all the main plugins are included with JCE Pro.

Other plugins are installed with the Joomla Installer.

One of the buttons you have added to the editor layout is the Toggle Toolbars button, which hides all the toolbar rows below the one the button is in, until it is clicked:

Remove this button form the editor layout.

Hi Ryan,
Is there a way to set the initial state of the Toggle Toolbars button? I like the function of the button, but other authors are irritated, when all the rows below are invisible.
Thank you for your response.

Not currently, but it makes sense to have a default state option.

I will look at adding this in the next update.

I've just purchased and installed 2.6.9 Pro. I simply need to be able to create links to K2 articles. In 2.5.16 (a free version) there was an install add-on function which allowed me to add k2-links-for-jce-2.0.x.zip. How do I do this with the pro version?

The K2 Links plugin is now a Joomla Plugin and is installed with the Joomla Installer.

You can download the new K2 Links plugin here - https://github.com/getk2/k2-links-for-jce
