Hi,
for Windows-User in "Old Europe" it is not easy to type an em- or en-dash or other special charcters. At the moment we can use the button "Insert custom character" and search for the right field and so on.
Different countries have different keyboards, so the possibility to add special characters are different.
For the non breaking space character you have added a special button. Very good. But I am searching for a way to customize the tool bar, so I can add with a german or a swiss german or a swiss french or a italian keyboard by simple clicking for example an em-dash or an en-dash or ellipsis and so on.
Kind regards
Detlev

Here is a small update that will be in a future version of the editor:
Replace editor_plugin.js in /components/com_jce/editor/tiny_mce/plugins/charmap/ with the file in the attached zip.
Clear your browser cache.
In the Editor Global Configuration, add your custom characters to the Custom Configuration Variables field in the format name1=character1,name2=character2, (with the & and ; on the character) eg:
You can now select the character from the drop-down menu on the Insert Custom Character button.

Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean everybody isn't out to get you.
