I use JCE Editor and Mediabox on several sites. On one of them I have a weird issue:
I have a "Category-Blog" with 6 articles per page. Any article has a thumbnail image with popup feature. The actual size of any of the thumbnails is width=200px.
Article 1: the thumbnail's width is 88px instead of 200px (far too small)
Article 2: the thumbnail's width is 436.367px instead of 200px (too wide)
Article 3: the thumbnail's width is 713.833px instead of 200px (far too wide)
Article 4: the thumbnail's width is 327px instead of 200px (too wide)
Article 5: the thumbnail's width is 200px all right (correct)
Article 6: the thumbnail's width is 200px all right (correct)
As soon as you press [F5] and reload the page, any of the thumbnails switch to the correct size (200px). But you may visit the same page one day later. The issue is there again. At first the thumbnails have different sizes (which looks very ugly indeed). Only after reloading the page you can see the images in the correct size.
I remember we had this issue some time ago and I think it was fixed then. But now it seems as if it's here again. Of course I use the current versions of any of my JCE plugins, e.g. JCE Media Box plugin 1.1.22.

This may be caused by a "conflict" between JCE MediaBox and a lazy-load plugin (which loads images into the page when you scroll down to them) you have installed.
In the JCE MediaBox parameters, set Zoom / Popup Icon to No.

Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean everybody isn't out to get you.
If I set the JCE MediaBox parameters Zoom / Popup Icon to No, any of the thumbnails are oversized. Not only the zoom icon has gone, but also the popup feature. The popup feature seems to be disabled.
The issue occurs after having migrated to a new (responsive) template (JSN Air Pro). With the old non responsive template it was all right.
You may visit http://www.svse.ch/de/ to see the effect. Zoom / Popup Icon is currently set to Yes.

That's because Zoom / Popup Icon is currently set to Yes.
If Zoom / Popup Icon is set to Yes, thumbnails do not respect the defined size every now and then. They often are displayed oversized. The size seems to be by hazard. Just press [F5] and they adopt the correct size.
If Zoom / Popup Icon is set to No, thumbnails are displayed as normal images with their original size.
The popups are working for me on your site.

This is due to the following css rule in the bootstrap library used by your template:
img {
width: auto\9;
height: auto;
max-width: 100%;
vertical-align: middle;
border: 0;
-ms-interpolation-mode: bicubic;
}

Sorry but this was without effect. Furthermore, I completely removed the img {} section of the bootstrap.min.css. Without any effect as well.
- Empty the browser cache
- Visit http://www.svse.ch/de
- All thumbnails are too large
- Press [F5]
- All thumbnails have the correct size

After setting Zoom / Popup Icons to No, any thumbnails are still too large and (that's new) remain large after pressing [F5]. I had to switch back to Zoom / Popup Icons to Yes. It is the JSN Air Template and therefore I will also ask the Joomlashine Team for support.
There is a script running on the page that is resizing the images. Have a look at the width and height values for the first image - they have been altered from the original values by javascript.

I did some further investigation into the issue:
Today, 4 thumbnails have the correct size (width=200px). 2 thumbnails are too small (width=67px)
After [F5] all thumbnails have the correct size (width=200px)
Mozilla Firefox style inspector indicates that the wrong width=67px origins like this:
max-width: 67px; this.style 67px; Element
I do not exactly know where this instruction "max-width" comes from. What means "this.style 67px; Element"? JSN Template or JCE MEdia Box?

If you disable the JCE MediaBox plugin in the Joomla Plugin Manager, is the max-width style still added?

Good idea! I disabled the JCE MediaBox plugin in the Joomla Plugin Manager and then "max-width" disappeares. After enabling the JCE MediaBox plugin, "max-width" is here again.
I might be able to resolve the issue by adding

img {to the Template's custom.css. Right?
max-width: none;

I don't see any problem with the images on the site at the moment.
When MediaBox is enabled, a max-width style is added to a span tag that is placed around the image, but this is not the cause of the original issue.

I agree: the issue can not always be seen. Sometimes it works, often it does not. Tonight 19:50 it did not. See screenshot...

Red arrow: image with wrong width=102px
Please have a look at the Mozilla Firefox code inspector. It says
It's driving me crazy. Now, I added
