Hi there,

we want to insert cell values from an excel table into a table in the JCE Editor.

Inserting the complete table works fine, but updating a bunch of marked cells does not work. There is a whole new table inserted or only the values, depending on the tags that are allowed in the Clipboard Options (Plugin Params).

We saw this post (https://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/support/forum/editor/112070-pasting-multiple-cell-from-excel,-into-a-joomla-table) which sounds as it is possible.

Maybe we have so setting that prevents this feature from working... Is there a way to reset all settings of the profile back to default settings?

Kind regards
Tanja

I'm not seeing any issue with copying and pasting selected cells in an Excel table into an existing table in JCE.

What is your exact process?

Hi Ryan,

I have a table in the editor field. Now I mark e.g. 10 cells in an Excel Sheet, copy them and mark the corresponding cells in the table in the editor and paste (STRG + V). Then a new table gets inserted into the first of the marked cells.

If I delete table from the allowed tags in the Clipboard Options, then all 10 values are inserted one behind the other in the first marked cell.

Kind regards,

Tanja

Instead of marking the cells in the table in the editor, try instead just clicking into the first cell, then paste. This should replace any content in the editor table in the corresponding cells with the pasted content.

Hi Ryan,

I'm sorry, but this doesn't work either. The problem is the same.

Even if I copy cells from the editor table and paste them into another table cell a new table gets inserted.

Kind regards

Tanja

Ryan

Are you using JCE Pro 2.9.80?

I'm not able to reproduce this on your site on Windows or macOS using Chrome or Firefox.

Do you get the same issue on the demo site? (Login, then edit any article and add a table to paste into) - https://demo.joomlacontenteditor.net

Hi Ryan,

I'm sorry, but now it works as expected. I don't know what went wrong before.

But It would also be nice, if you could copy cells in the existing table and paste them into the same table on another place. At the moment there is a new table inserted.

Kind regards.

This might have been caused by a caching issue.

I will look into this, thank you.

Hi Ryan,

this works, thank you!

But if you mark e.g. 6 cells in the middle of the table (3 columns and 2 rows) and paste them into another cell, then only the values of the first line are copied.

I as a user would expect it to work differently, like in excel, where the values would override as well the columns and the rows.

I hope you understand what I mean.

Kind regards, Tanja
