I've got JCE on a site that I've recently updated to J5 and PHP 8.2.

Before the upgrade, I could embed Mp4 videos using ACF and JCE quite easily.

Since the upgrade, it seems like my site doesn't "see" Mp4 files, and no matter what I've tried, I cannot embed ANY video files. I've even tried using LinkedIn files, and while it will embed them, it does not play them on the frontend.

Is there some kind of security setting or something I need to change to enable video content on J5 with PHP 8.2?

How are you selecting the files? Is this in a Joomla Media Field, or a custom JCE Media Field.

Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean everybody isn't out to get you.

Hi again.

I managed to fix the file issue, but even though I can embed video now, they don't play on the frontend.

I've tried using local MP4s and ACF from Tassos, but I've also tried with HTML from LinkedIn, and neither works. Both embedded into JCE.

Here's a link to a page with this problem, and I've turned on error logging and debugging. https://www.bimworking.com/services/iso-19650-standards-implementation

As you can see, the video embeds, but it does not actually do anything.

You need to enable the Controls option so the user can start the video. You can only enable Autoplay if you enable the Mute option as well, as browsers will usually override autoplay on videos unless they are muted.

Assuming you have inserted the video using the Media Manager, these options are available in the Media Options tab.
