Hi Ryan.

A few days ago I was given a table in MS Word (Mac Version 16.90.2 (24102719)), I copied it and pasted it directly into the editor (using CTL_V). This worked fine.

More recently (and this is across many of my sites), if I copy different content from a different Word document, and use CTL_V (or use the Paste icon), the table from old copy buffer is still held and the table is added to the editor instead of the newly copied content. If I use Paste as Text, the content is added correctly.

Note that if the copied content is not from MS Word however, I do not experience this issue at all.

Is this something I need to fix at my end? As mentioned, it happens on several sites using J4, JCEPro 2982.

Hope you can advise?

Is this within the same editing session, ie: you have not closed, refreshed or changed the browser window?

Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean everybody isn't out to get you.

This happens in the same session and in other sessions (which could be several days apart on different sites). So copy paste table on Monday on site A. Then on Friday on site B. Its a puzzler! Wonder if its a Word thing?

Can you download and install JCE Pro 2.9.81 on one of the sites - https://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/downloads/editor/pro/jce-pro-2981 - then clear your browser cache and attempt a copy / paste operation as before?

Just wondering if a change in 2.9.82 might be causing this, although that it persists across sessions is unusual.

I'll give that a try a little later today and advise on any results.

Hi there Ryan.

I found out what the problem was - it's related to how the clipboard as misbehaving in Microsoft Office on the mac. I was able to identify that if I copied content from a Word document to a different Word document, then the paste would always paste the older table from weeks ago. It didn't matter what I did, it wasn't until I rebooted the Mac to clear all of the old ‘data’, that the problem was then resolved.

Sorry to have caused you any consternation!

Chris

No problem, glad to know I don't have to chase down a bug!
