Good morning.
Doing my head in with this one.
Simply creating an article and upon saving, it reverts back to a 'one line' format.
My attachments will explain.
Many Thank

In System -> Global Configuration -> Text Filters, what Filter Type option do you have set for the User Group?

Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean everybody isn't out to get you.
Thanks for coming back to me Ryan.
Probably another issue...Set on Default Forbidden, however, changing back to No Filter and saving seems to revert back to Default Setting
Default Forbidden should not be removing the HTML from the article.

I can confirm that no changes to the Joomla Text Filter are not being saved. It is difficult to troubleshoot this, but I suspect there is something on the server side, perhaps a firewall type filter, that is removing the Joomla Text Filter values before they are able to be processed and saved to the db.

Thanks again Ryan.
I'll have a dig through the server and let you know if I find anything.
Cheers
Hi Ryan.
No joy at all. Went through the server, error logs, mod_security, and still nothing.
I have around 100 other clients on this same server and no other issue like this is present with any of them.
Strangely enough, I use YooTheme 'WidgetKit', which seems to work fine with JCE (Once selected..)
Even does the same thing with tinyMCE as well..

Yootheme does not use the Joomla Text Filter when saving, only the Joomla Article Manager does.

Yes. The issue here is with the settings of the Joomla Text Filter, as stored for the com_config extension in the extensions table in the database.
If you have happy to edit this manually using a database editor (PHPMyadmin or similar), then update the params field for the entry in the extensions table with the name com_config, with the following default data:
{"filters":{"1":{"filter_type":"NH","filter_tags":"","filter_attributes":""},"9":{"filter_type":"NH","filter_tags":"","filter_attributes":""},"6":{"filter_type":"BL","filter_tags":"","filter_attributes":""},"7":{"filter_type":"BL","filter_tags":"","filter_attributes":""},"2":{"filter_type":"NH","filter_tags":"","filter_attributes":""},"3":{"filter_type":"BL","filter_tags":"","filter_attributes":""},"4":{"filter_type":"BL","filter_tags":"","filter_attributes":""},"5":{"filter_type":"BL","filter_tags":"","filter_attributes":""},"8":{"filter_type":"BL","filter_tags":"","filter_attributes":""}}}

Hi Ryan, good news from the front!
That message you sent to me sent me to the database, and actually that site had two records for com_config. The original ID 23, and then a new one with ID 10420 which had the params blank. 🙂
When I removed the new record and just left the original this has now resolved the saving issues.
Woohoo! - Thanks again for your assistance!
