I set up a profile to be used in custom field - assigned to com_fields and plugins.   It seems to work correctly and shows as it supposed to when first editing.  However, if you add content and save, the field then will show the default profile.   This only seems to be an issue with the subform, and works ok on another field using the editor.   See before and after images.     Currently using 2.9.85-rc1

This will not assign the profile to fields when creating or editing content. Only one profile can be active on a page at a time, so any fields on the page will use the same profile as assigned to the component you are creating the content in, eg: com_content (Article Manager).

Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean everybody isn't out to get you.

Thanks Ryan.   It does however, sort of work.  The profile is shown on creating content and always on *some* fields, but not the editor field.    Not sure if this a limitation of Joomla, but would be great if there was a way to use a simplified profile on fields - as you can see from the images it can be unwieldy.
