We would like to disable frontend editing.
We disabled Toewijzing "Website" in Component->JCE administration->Profiles->Default (see attachment), but we still get the icon "Bewerken".
Did we do something wrong?

JCE does not control front-end editing, this is set tin the Joomla configuration.
Go to System -> Global Configuration, and in the Site tab, set Frontend Editing to None.

1. We first tried Jooma Global configuration but that doesn't work. This parameter only affects the editing of modules and menu's, not the editing of content.

The Assignment options determines where the editor profile will be active, eg: Front-end and Admin, specific Components, User Groups etc.
This only sets where the JCE Editor Profile will be loaded, it does not disable editing in the front-end, which is a Joomla setting.
Regardless of what you set in the JCE Editor Profile, you will still see the edit icon (pencil) in the front-end.
You can attempt to remove this using the Permissions options in Content -> Articles -> Options -> Permissions, setting the Create and Edit permissions for the User Group to Denied - https://help.joomla.org/proxy?keyref=Help44:Articles:_Options&lang=en#Permissions

Thanks, but we tried this as well. In that case all editing is disabled, not only the frontend editing.
I opened a ticket on the Joomla forum. I hope I will get a reply there.
