When editing in Editor tab, if the site is at domain mysite.com, and I create a link to https://mysite.com/mypage (I need to do this for an outbound email), then upon saving the edit, the domain is stripped from the link, leaving only /mypage.

If I edit in the CODE tab and save, the link is not changed and the full path is preserved.

Is there a reason for this to happen?

In Editor Profiles -> Editor Parameters -> Cleanup & Output, set URL Conversion to None.
