Hey,
I’m running Joomla 3.10.12, and when I try installing JCE 2.9.96 or 2.9.97 Beta 3 (over an existing older version, installing from file), the installer throws an error.
When I check for updates, Joomla reports that 2.9.96 is already installed — and also shows 2.9.96 as the latest available update.
Tested this on two different sites with the same result.

I am not able to reproduce this in my tests. I am able to update and install without any errors.

I have cleared this by clicking the Clear Cache button in Extensions -> Manage -> Update.

I am not able to test this as I keep getting a 503 Service Unavailable error on your site when I attempt to install the package. This is a server error, not a JCE error.

meh, slow server. I've raised the max exec time to 30sec, tried again and it does work now on both site. Interesting that we didn't get the same error.
