OK, so I got the named folders working in JCE and that resolved a messy problem in the making for where uploaded and pasted images end up. But it doesn't address another feature that, if I am not mistaken, is part of the Joomla editor framework (not JCE itself).

Regardless, I am sure somebody knows the answer to the following question:

In the Images and Links tab, there are two image browser "Select" buttons. How do I constrain the user to the same named folders configured for the JCE profiles?

Media fields that have been converted to use the JCE File Browser, such as those in the Images & Links tab, can only use the first of the configured File Directory Path options, either those set in the Editor Profiles -> Plugin Parameters -> File Browser, or in Editor Profiles -> Editor Parameters -> Filesystem.

If not set, the path defaults to "images".

Those particular Media Fields are Joomla Media Fields, but JCE converts them to use the JCE File Browser rather than the Joomla Media Manager.
