I am trying to set up JCE so that vendors/advertisers I assign to a group above 'Registered User' can enter news items from the front end. I am trying to limit front end article creation to only have access to one folder to upload images to. This doesn't seem to work, but testing it isn't an option as at this point the back end says: " Your server's maximum upload size : 0 KB" and doesn't allow me to upload images through JCE, it says this where you can adjust upload file size in JCE configuration.
In addition the front end formatting is difficult to read and perhaps has options not needed on as there seems to be links that don't work or there are fields you can't see.
I could really use some help getting set up right. Thanks in advance for your time and effort.

Restrictions on your server may be preventing JCE from getting the PHP upload size setting from the PHP configuration file.
Regardless of this, you can enter in a number, eg: 1024

Thank you, I sent the information. FYI regular "Media Manager" and File repository upload works fine, I have just noticed an issue with JCE. I realize it is more complicated than that, I spent all day yesterday eliminating 'j query' conflicts this stuff isn't necessarily easy.
Bit of history, site started out in Mambo, migrated to Joomla. My sites were pretty popular and became targets for hackers, migrated from Joomla 1.5 to 2.5 to aid in fighting off the threats only to be taken down multiple times with malicious code spread everywhere, kind of gave up on sites for a while and now got new server and migrated everything to Joomla 3 and working out kinks in thems/templates. Letting you know this stuff so you are aware of possible issues in database etc.. I don't know of any, but site has been around since 2000 and in CMS form since early 2000's.

JCE 2.5.31 has been released, containing the fix, but the version released contains one minor fix not included in the version I installed on your site.
If you wish to install the released version, you will need to download and install it using the Joomla Installer - https://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/component/zoo/item/install-or-update-the-jce-editor-in-joomla3
While you're at it, don't forget to update to Joomla 3.6.4 (a very important security update), which will be released in the next 30 minutes.
