Hi!
According to this thread is was planned to include the features of the image manager extended to the Links and images tab.
Basically I would need the option of resizing images while uploading. I've tried several extentions, all of them keep the original image and work with preg-replace to a new url of the resized image, but I want the image to be resized and not the image src to be replaced.
Do you think the Image Manager Extended options will be available soon?
Thanks,
Tim

This is available in JCE 2.6.0 Pro, which is currently in Release Candidate stage (development pre-release).
You can download it to test from here - https://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/downloads/editor/item/jce-pro-260-rc

Hi Ryan!
I installed it and could see that now I can resize an image while uploading it in the "images and links" tab. But unfortunately the option to enable this resizing by default seems to be gone? I would like to have the resize option checked by default with 800 x 800px. Can I enter this somewhere in the settings?
Cheers,
Tim
PS: The new UI looks fine!!

It looks like I have left out a few options in Editor Profiles -> Editor Parameters -> Filesystem
You can set the Resize Width and Height, but the options to have Resize checked by default, or hidden, are missing. The will be included in the JCE 2.6.0 Pro final release.

Ok thanks.
Do you have an estimated release date?
Depending on how long it wakes I would try to check the resize option via javascript when the image manager is loaded...
Cheers,
Tim
edit:
Uhm: Seems like there is also a slight bug in the developer version. In the link manager, when I enter a link without http://, I am not prompted about the missing protocol, I just cannot save the link and and popup remains open. Sorry for posting this here, there may be another place to report issues?

Hi Ryan,
unfortunately I cannot confirm this is fixed on my site.
Yes, I can set the resize option to be checked by default. But unfortunately, the defauld width and height values are not used. The inputs for width and height are empty and so the image is not resized. I need to enter values manually. Can you please try on your end if this works for you?

I have fixed some related issues in JCE Pro 2.6.0 RC4 - https://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/downloads/editor/category/development
Please test and confirm.

I tested and it is even worse than before: Resize options are no longer shown at all. :-/
See my screenshots attached.. Tested both, image manager and image manager extended.

Hi Ryan,
unfortunately the whole image resizing does not work at all! Not only in the upload mode, but also when you try to resize an image afterwards it does not work. I cannot save the resized image...
I don't know how long it will take until you will fix those issues, my customer starts getting angry... Can you estimate how long it will take until the resize options will work again? Otherwise I will have to install the "old" JCE again...

Hi Ryan!
Thanks, it works but I noticed that the resize function does NOT work when you have an image with square dimensions! I have resize option set to 800 x 800 and upload an image of 3000 x 3000, the image is not resized on uploading. I upload an image of 3001 x 3000, it is resized on uploading.
Very strange. For me it is ok because my customer usually does not upload square dimension image. But could you please check if this is a general bug or has something to do with my installation / settings?
Regards,
Tim

Resizing on upload has never worked in this way, so it is not a bug.
Images are resized proportionally to fit within a "box" of the dimensions specified. Images are not cropped to fit within these dimensions.
