Just a thought, the File Manager you created for JCE is the best I've ever seen in any web editor I have tried. Also one of the reason why I have not used any other. Don't you think it would benefit us all if it replaces Joomla's media manager? IMO, the joomla media manager is a joke specially when using it in the front end. Why? Because you cannot delete a file or create a folder, to do that you have to go to the backend. It does not serve the purpose as Media Manager, uploader maybe (very basic).
There's an ongoing project I think it's called Advanced Media Manager which has some features of JCE but it still look like the default Media Manager.
I think it would make JCE lighter if some of the feature gets merge into the core Joomla.
