This is already available with the latest version of the editor (in Joomla 3)
Check that the System - JCE plugin is enabled in the Joomla Extension Manager.
FYI - this does not yet include any of the Image Manager Extended features.

So it is, brilliant!! I already have it working on another site without knowing!
However I would like the Image Manager Extended features to be available, is that going to happen in the future?
Thanks very much for such a quick reply

I am trying to implement this, however it is proving to be more difficult than initially anticipated.

Isn't that always the way!
It will be a while before I need it, so I'll keep my fingers crossed and an eye out for the update.
Thanks very much and good luck with it.

Hello,
It seems working fine for super admin, but not for my custom profile user:
The browser button calls JCE media manager when Super Admin connected frontend, but calls joomla default media manager when User is connected frontend...
I tried to open all rights in JCE tab (joomla admin panel) but it is still the same...
Do you have any idea about that?
Thanks

I found the solution !
My "User" was assigned under "Front End" profile, which by default has the file manager unchecked, unlike my "Super User" who has the "Default" profile assigned.
Go to : JCE profiles > "Front End" profile > "Toolbar" tab > "Other functions" and check the box "Display file manager in Plug-ins like advanced links, table options, rows and cells, XHTML styles, image manager, etc... (sorry if my translation is not accurate).
Now it is working fine frontend ! Hope it may helps others.

Hello - I am just wondering how the Image Manager Extended features are coming along on this as I will be handing a big site over to a client in a week for them to start testing.
Is it something that could be available in the next few weeks, or is it still some time away?
Thanks

Hi Ryan - I am still receiving updates for this thread, even though I have turned off "subscribe by email".
Is there something else I need to do?
Thanks
Is there something else I need to do?
Thanks
The site you have sent me the login for does not have JCE installed!
The JCE File Browser is only available in the Images and Links tab when JCE is installed on the site.
dear Ryan i try cache empty and again setup maybe change !
but nothing, now clear instaled. please again check,
king regards
Sadi.
Your template includes a number of plugins to create to create different field types, which override the modifications to the Joomla Media field required to active the JCE File Browser in the Images and Links tab.

you can ?
I do not know how it is done.
your account admin
I am not able to fix this issue on your site as their is a conflict with extensions used by your template, and the method JCE uses to enable the JCE File Browser in the Images and Links tab..
