I made this post a few years ago, and I'm having this same issue with another website which is using the Dynamic4 - Responsive Multipurpose Joomla Template:

I'm wondering if your original solution is still the way to fix this issue, since you've made so many great improvements to JCE Editor?

Yes, Columns would still be the best way to deal with this.
Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean everybody isn't out to get you.
