Hello, I'm having problems uploading. I have looked into Media Manager aan JCE File browser. I am getting various error messages. I have tried adding into the 'permitted file types' (I've looked in so many places I forget where that was!) but still no joy. I know I've added pdf before,; not sure about tif. I've checked regarding spaces in the titles.
Any ideas where my problems may lie?
Robin

What error messages are you getting when attempting to upload with:
a) The Joomla Media Manager?
b) The JCE File Browser?
Does this happen with all files, or just ones of a specific type?

You need to add tif as a valid extension to the Image group.

I can't comment on the Joomla Media Manager errors, as those don't have anything to do with JCE, but the extension type might be an issue here (tif instead of tiff)?

Found it! Slightly different layout in J3, I think.
I've uploaded the tif and large pdf ok now, thanks. However, the tif image doesn't display, is there another parameter somewhere to allow a tif image to actually display? At the moment it seems to embed as an icon.

So:
I've enabled tif: http://screencast.com/t/od8w5LpD
but get this: http://screencast.com/t/3YzY5KhuKlh
...? Robin

Can you see the file if you link to it directly?
Does this happen with all images, or just this one tiff file?

No: If I create the link below:http://www.sightlines-initiative.com/images/Library/conferences/March_2016_Networks/our_changes.tif
it prompts a 'save as' window.
However, a direct link to a different file in the same folder opens fine:
http://www.sightlines-initiative.com/images/Library/conferences/March_2016_Networks/our_changes_sightlines_march2015.pdf
It seems to happen only with tif file extension (I wanted to use tif file because it seemed to provide better quality) . but maybe it is a bad idea?

I personally think embedding of tif files in a webpage is suboptimal because not all webbrowser will support it.

Your server does not support this file type as an image file.
Add this to the top of your .htaccess file:
AddType image/tiff .tiff .tif

Thanks Ryan,
I will do this. I think I'll need to re-install AdminTools Pro.
Cheers, Robin
