Currently I am working on a migration of a 2.5 website. In the current 2.5 website, the JCE editor is set to use an absolute path for images to the folder /includes/images/. I would like to correct this so that the JCE editor makes links relative to the folder /images.
Is there a way to correct this for existing articles and modules so that I only need to move the files from /includes/images/ to /images?

Try DBReplacer - https://www.nonumber.nl/extensions/dbreplacer
The free version might be enough to do the replacement on the content and modules:
For content, select the content table, and the introtext and fulltext columns (ctrl + click to select both columns).
In the Search field, enter in
In the Replace field, enter in (without the slash, which is annoyingly being added here by the Joomla SEF plugin)
DBReplacer will show you the matches (in red) and the replacement (in green).
Do the same for the modules Table, but only selecting the content Column.

Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean everybody isn't out to get you.
