1. Please upgrade to the latest version of the editor - JCE 2.5.11
2.
Does this happen when you click the [Toggle Editor] link above the toolbar, or only when you Save?

Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean everybody isn't out to get you.
1. Upgrade done.
2. It happens only in the frontend editor as soon as the editor appears.
If Toggle Editor is pressed the brackets code is missing as well.
I already checked Global Configuration / Textfilter (Registered, Authir: no filter) .
Still the square brackets are stripped away in the frontend editor.

Please try this:
1. In the Joomla Global Configuration, set the Editor to No Editor.
2. In the front-end, create an article containing the brackets.
3. Save.
Are the brackets removed when the article is saved or re-loaded?

As the JCE Editor is not involved in the steps above, it is obvious that the brackets are being removed by the extension you are creating the article in (assumed to be the Joomla Article Manager) or by the Joomla Text Filter.
Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean everybody isn't out to get you.
