JCE 2.0.0 beta7 released

Continuing our steady journey towards JCE 2.0 Stable, we are pleased to announce the release of beta7.

Thank you for your patience and support during this development phase, and to everyone who has submitted bug reports and helped in tracking down and eliminating problems.

Changelog:

  • Fixed : 403 Error when opening the Control Panel File Browser 
  • Fixed : Error uploading in a Profile that is assigned to a component
  • Fixed : Browse button in Add-ons installer should be more responsive.
  • Fixed : Errors in Profiles and MediaBox screens.
  • Fixed : XHTMLXtras Plugin
  • Changed : Compression settings are now controlled by a single parameter each for Javascript and CSS, with Gzip and Minify options on by default.
  • Changed : Compression off by default. All javascript files are minified are packaging.
  • Changed : Removed all index.html files from all folders in the package to reduce file numbers and overall package size. Files are added to each folder on installation.
  • Changed : Removed Emotions and Fullpage plugins. These will be available as separate plugin downloads.
  • Changed : Removed some redundant icons.
  • Changed : JCE MediaBox popups are now created with the old key[value] syntax rather than JSON.
  • Changed : Long file / folder names (greater than 25 characters) in the File Browser are truncated.
  • Added : Text selections can now be wrapped in SPAN tags by selecting Span from the Format list.

The update is available from the JCE Updates dialog in the JCE Control Panel (you should see a notification when accessing the Control Panel) or from the download link below.

An alternate tar vesrion is being provided as this may help installation in some cases where a "Cannot find Joomla XML setup file" error is shown, wihch may be caused by a file limit imposed by the server on zip extraction.

JCE MediaBox has also been updated to 1.0.16. This version (or later) is required for JCE 2.0 beta7 (or later). This update will also be available from the JCE Updates dialog if a previous vesrion of JCE MediaBox is installed.
