I have just updated to the pro version.

Now it could be me (probably) but I see no difference in before and after.
The mediabox-2 plugin is activated.

If you have MediaBox installed, then this will be an option in the Popup tab in the Image Manager Extended. See:

For rollover images, you need to enable this. Please see - https://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/support/faq/editor/rollover-tab-missing
