Unable to display images

I have a strange one . For some reason I am unable to display any newly uploaded images. I can edit existing articles and pictures but any i upload display an invalid format. I am using an up to date Joomla 4 installation and have tried various formats and pictures including FTP the pictures directly.
Any ideas as I am stumped.

Sorry Ryan, Forget that post, I blame it on age, I forgot you cant use "Adverts" as a folder. DOH.

This must be some server restriction you have, as it's not something set by Joomla or JCE.
Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean everybody isn't out to get you.
