I was setting up IAM permissions today on Amazon and the screen displayed a warning stating only alphanumeric values were allowed. After removing the hyphens, the file was accepted but I doubt that it will work correctly with JCE.
Please advise.

Assuming you are referring to the IAM Permissions example here - https://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/support/documentation/filesystem-for-amazon-s3/configuration - the Sid value is merely an example, and you are free to use whatever permissible value you choose.
