Hi guys,

is it possible to allow the user to insert own images WITHOUT getting access to the image library.

Case: In a form (RSform) I allow the user to edit text areas using JCE - sometimes the user might need to illustrate with her/his own images (drag + drop)
and I don't want them to have access to the entire backend image library)

Can this be done ?

You can do this in 2 ways:

1. Create a unique profile for the specific usergroup or extension (eg: RSForm) and then in Editor Profiles -> Editor Parameters -> Filesystem, use a variable in the File Directory Path to restrict the user to their own folder, eg: images/$username

See - https://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/support/tutorials/editor/setting-the-file-directory-path

2. Use one profile for all usergroups, but restrict all users (including admin) to their own folder using the File Directory Path value as above.
