JCE Pro 2.9.2 released

This update fixes a number of bugs reported since the last release, and adds a few new features and improvements.

New features include options to set Startup Content for the editor, Media Previews of <video> and <audio> content, and webp support in the Image Editor and Create Thumbnail tools (which are also now available in the File Manager and File Browser). We've also added the option to set “quotes” on a selection using CTRL + SHIFT + ". When using a German language pack, CTRL + SHIFT + 2 will result in „quote“.

Video parameters - autoplay, loop, controls etc. - are now passed to MediaBox when creating a popup in the Media Manager, and embedding Youtube and Vimeo videos using a pasted in URL or the Quick Media input will now use relevant options set in the Media Manager parameters.

JCE Pro is also currently being tested on PHP 8, with no major issues found in JCE Pro 2.9.2.

Startup Content

You can now set a URL to a file or some HTML content to use as startup content when an empty editor first loads. These options are available in Editor Profiles -> Editor Parameters -> Advanced.

Media Preview Updates

The Media Preview feature has now been extended to include <video> and <audio> elements. In addition to this, Media Preview elements are now drag resizable, as with images. Drag resizing is done proportionately, except for iframe Media Previews containing non-video content - pdf, html, websites etc. - which can be resized without constraint.
