This is a minor update to fix a few issues in Image Manager Extended, and to add a new option to set whether the PHP Imagick as the preferred image processing library (the default option).
This option has become necessary due to reports of issues with Imagick on some servers, and can be set in the Advanced section of the Image Manager Extended parameters. Setting this option to No will allow image processing to be performed by the PHP GD library.
PHP Imagick is preferred in most cases as it offers better performance and no memory restrictions.
A list of changes in the this update, as well as in previous releases, is available in the Changelog

Captions 2.1.0 has been released.
This update introduces 2 new features to the Captions plugin - Responsive Captions and Caption Text Position.
Responsive Captions
One of the most requested features for the Captions plugin has finally been added. After much trial and error, we have found a method to produce cross-browser responsive captions.
What is a "Responsive Caption"?
A responsive caption resizes to fit within the available window dimensions, if the associated image is also responsive. For example, if you resize the browser window, or view the caption on a mobile device, the caption container will resize as the image does.
Note : The image inside the caption must also be responsive, ie: it must not have a width and height attribute set, but has a width style of 100% and a height style of auto.
Caption Position
Another new feature is the option to set the Caption Text position to either top or bottom, eg:
The caption text position can be selected in the Text tab of the Captions dialog.
Changelog and Download
See the Changelog for a full list of additions and fixes.
The Captions Add-on can be download from Your Account page or from the Downloads section.

This is a minor update to fix a few issues in the Image Manager Extended, in particular errors when resizing or thumbnailing on upload where these options have been hidden in the upload dialog.
The Image Editor has undergone some extensive internal tweaks, changing the way images are saved and how transforms (resize, crop) are applied. This should hopefully help users who have been unable to use the editor due to some server restrictions. In addition, the Crop options now include fields to set custom width, height x and y values.

This release follows a rather lengthy beta and release candidate testing process, resulting in quite a long list of bug fixes. The extension has also had a general cleanup, with a number of methods optimized and updated and a few layouts cleaned up.
In addition to this we have also managed to reduce the size of the extension package (zip) by around 360kb by compressing css files and optimizing png and gif images and removing other redundant files. The zip package is now being used as the main distribution package.
Postgresql support has also been added (Joomla 3 only), but due to errors in the Joomla core, some items such as the Link Browser may not function as expected.
Thank you to everyone who helped in beta and release candidate testing.

The first release of 2013 is a tentative one. JCE 2.3.2 is being release as a beta version to iron out any issues with the bug fixes and changes introduced in this version.
This update includes quite a few bug fixes and a few useful additions.
New Stuff
The Clipboard plugin now includes routines to handle Footnotes when pasting from Office documents. Footnotes can be converted to anchors, unlinked (the link is removed but the text remains), or removed completely.
An option has been added to the Global Configuration to set behaviour when the encoding mode is set to UTF-8 - characters can remain in the utf-8 version or converted to the " ".
The Source Code Editor has been upgraded to CodeMirror 3. The CodeMirror project has seen significant changes and improvements over the last few months, in part due to its inclusion in the Adobe Brackets project.
The layout of the Help dialog has been improved with collapsible and resizable panes.
Bug Fixes
One of the main reasons for the beta release, a number of changes have been made to the code structure to remove Strict Standards errors, which many users have been reporting since the PHP 5.4 inclusion of E_STRICT in the E_ALL PHP error_reporting parameter.
Changes have been made to the filesystem functions to improve support for IIS filesystems, including support for UNC paths.
The Updates dialog now opens correctly from the "Updates Available" link in the Control Panel.
A full changelog will be published when JCE 2.3.2 "stable" is released.
Installation and Updating
Installation of a beta version on a production site is not recommended.
