Hello,

I recently update JCE to version 2.9.55. I have found that NON Super Users are able to use a modal pop up dialog box in Akeeba Tickets. In opening the ticket with Akeeba I received this response:

"This looks like a JCE bug which was fixed in the latest release a few days ago.

Your problem here happens in the editor, before our code runs. Our plugin says "when the user clicks this button you must display a modal dialog with such and such URL opened in an IFRAME inside it". JCE shows the modal background blocker overlay, but does not open the modal. This was, indeed, a bug that JCE had and fixed very recently, in version 2.9.52, see https://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/support/changelog/editor.

If updating JCE does not help please contact its author, Ryan Demmer. He's more than happy to identify and fix this kind of issues."

Here is a link to a screen recording showing the issue:

Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Does this happen in the front-end only, or also in the Joomla Admin?

Ryan,

This issue happens on both the front and back end for NON Super Users.

Thanks,
Eric

Do you get the same issue when using the Tinymce editor, or if the Joomla button is removed from the JCE Editor toolbar?

If I change the default editor to TinyMCE...the "Canned Replies" modal dialog box works as expected.

I cannot remove the Joomla button in JCE to test as this is how a user accesses the "Canned Replies" modal dialog box.

Thanks,
Eric

If you remove the Joomla button, the Canned Replies button will be displayed below the editor area. This is just for troubleshooting purposes.

Here is a screen recording after removing the Joomla button from the toolbar in the JCE profile:

Nothing happens after clicking the "Canned Replies" button at the bottom of the page.

Thanks,

Which version of Joomla are you using? This is working fine for me in Joomla 4.4 with JCE Pro 2.9.55 And Akeeba Ticket System Pro 5.3.3
