I think I have discovered a bug with the Image Uploader, if I am correctly understanding my image upload configuration settings.
I have been using JCE for 9+ years and never noticed this before, which makes me believe this is a new bug.
The File Browser is dramatically compressing .jpg images during the upload sequence, when you have Remove Image EXIF data turned ON.
I definitely have all Resample and Resize options turned OFF.
Steps to replicate problem
Editor Parameters/Filesystem/Image Editing - Remove image EXIF data = YES.
All resize and resampliing options are OFF.
Most of the images I upload to my website are in .png format. When I upload a .png file, it is not compressed.
However, if I upload a .jpg file, it is being compressed by 70%.
My example file was originally 96 KB, but was immediately compressed to only 28 KB.
Until this is fixed or explained how to fix, I have turned EXIF removal off.
Regards
Derek
