Hi,
the resizing of images only works proportionally. This problem exists in all image dialogs. (When uploading / in the file manager / when inserting images into articles). The resizing of the image is initially displayed correctly in the preview. However, when clicking on the "Apply" button, the image is then resized proportionally to the smallest of the height and width values.
We use JCE Pro 2.9.63 on Joomla! 5.0.3
The problem occurs in different browsers.

Are you referring to resizing when uploading, or when using the Image Editor?
Upload resizing will always be proportional.

However, when clicking on the "Apply" button, the image is then resized proportionally to the smallest of the height and width values.
Images are always resized proportionally. The Proportional option in the Image Editor Resize tab sets how the Width and Height values are calculated in relation to each other. With Proportional checked, changing the Width value will change the Height value etc.
When you click Apply to resize the image, the image is resized to fit within a proportional box of the given dimensions.

Yes, but I have not activated the Proportional option. If the Apply button always changes the size proportionally, what is the Proportional checkbox for?

As I explained above, this sets the relationship between the Width and Height input boxes. When it is checked, changing one value calculates the proportional value of the other. It may be redundant is this case, and might be removed in the future.
