How come my editor isn't showing me the font type and font size that I'm using? I've put my cursor in different areas of the box but the editor never tells me.

Only the font size and font type that have been added to the text as an inline styles will be shown in the Font Size and Font Famliy lists, font properties assigned by the template stylesheet will not.

I want to use the same font type and size in these two sections on my home page, below. The text on the lower part/module of my site is bigger than the font size in the the top module.

Select the text in those sections and click the Remove Format button. This will remove applied font styles from the text, and use the template's styling.
In the example below, the Remove Format button is next to the Styles list, although it may be in a different position on your toolbar.
