Hi guys,

Since the latest JCE update (2.9.52), I find the editor to have become very slow.

Please see this "real-time" video:

So I'm just checking if this has to do with the JCE editor....

Hi Ryan,

I've installed the update, but nothing really changed.
I tried to make a new article as well (since the first one is pretty big) - but the result is still the same. It takes a very long time for the aditor to become responsive, and while waiting, I can't close the article or change settings...

Tesing this out on your site I notice the following:
  1. Loading of an edit page without content takes about 1.5 seconds. Not particularly slow, but there does appear to be a bit of a delay.
  2. Loading times are slightly improved when setting the Compress CSS and Compress Javascript options to Yes in the Editor Global Configuration.
  3. The article in your video - "5678 PARKING SILO" - does not take as long for me to load as it does in your video. The settings changed in 2 might have helped.
  4. You have a lot of stuff loading on an edit page, with multipe field tabs each containing multiiple editors and other javascript. This is probably having some effect on the overall load speed, although the editor assets are effectively only loaded once, there is additional browser computation going on to render all of them and process their content if any.
