Seems like the move to JQuery has caused more than a few problems. Hopefully this release will iron out the remaining bugs.

Changelog (from 1.1.6)
  • Popup window position now adjusts to window when scrolled.
  • Fixed popup image resizing bug.

This fixes some minor bugs in the 1.1.5 release, and adds keyboard navigation (arrow keys and/or numeric keypad 4 and 6 keys for left and right, ESC for exit) as well as fading in/out the window overlay, with a parameter to set its opacity.

JCE Utilities Mambot 1.1.5 has been released and is available now in the downloads section.

This release sees the mambot move from using mootools as its javascript effects library to jQuery, partly because of unavoidable conflicts between mootools and prototype/scriptaculous (which is used by many other Joomla mambots/modules). Unfortunately this means that the popups will no longer be draggable (they may get this functionality back in the future), but a number of new configuration options have been added to the mambot, including the ability to have a 'semi-transparent window overlay' like in the original Lightbox.

'Operation Aborted' issues in IE6/IE7 should also be fixed. Furthermore, both the jQuery script and the JCE Utilties script are compressed for quicker loading (the original source files are included.

A few security patches are available for JCE 1.0.4 and JCE 1.1.0 beta 2 Admin Components in the downloads section.

JCE Admin Component 1.0.5 is available for download for new users (for use with JCE Editor Mambot 1.0.4 only)

Existing JCE 1.0.4 users can download and apply the patched files.

Copy the contents of the zip - admin.jce.php and jce.php over the exsting ones in administrator/components/cim_jce and components/com_jce respectively.

Existing JCE 1.1.0 beta 2 users will need to download and apply the patch available.

Copy the contents of the zip - admin.jce.php and jce.php over the exsting ones in administrator/components/cim_jce and components/com_jce respectively.

An updated version of the JCE Admin Component 1.1.0 beta 2 has been uploaded for new users.

JCE 1.1.0 beta 2 has been released, and due to a stupid mistake on my part, re-released with some critical fixes that affect the Editor Mambot and plugins. If you had already downloaded these packages any time before 04/12/2006, 10:00 AM (GMT+2), please download and install them again.

There are a number of important changes in beta 2, the most important being the use of a set of custom ajax functions (which also use the mootools ajax class), instead of the xajax library. This was necessary because of frontend conflicts with other modules and mambots that uses xajax which could not be resolved.

All plugins that use ajax have therefore been updated (all the Manager plugins and the AdvLink plugins), and the Caption plugin has had a minor update.

There is also a new DocLink plugin, that provides the ability to browse through DocMan documents using the familiar Manager interface, and insert links to these documents in a way similar to the File Manager plugin and the original DocLink extension. Unlike the origianl DocLink plugin, these inserted links are now editable.

In order to prevent users trying to install older 1.0.x plugins, which are incompatible with the new 1.1.0 system, the plugin installer requires the XML file to have a 1.1.0 version number. All new plugins have been updated with this, only the Simpleboard plugin is not, and will be soon.

Update: One thing I forgot to mention in the initial posting of this article is that 'Guests' are now supported as an access level.

After installing the new Admin Component and Editor Mambot, I recommend clearing your browser cache, and once the editor has loaded for the first time, doing a hard refresh (CTRL +F5). Javascript seems to have a horrible way of sticking to the browser cache, nad this will ensure that the newest installed files are loaded and not older ones which although may have the same name, contain vastly different contents, which would prevent many things from not working properly.

I hope we can move JCE 1.1.0 out of beta soon, so please let me know (via the forum) of any problems or suggestions.
